Emvafaya is the underground alias of one of New York’s most popular house music Producers and DJs – Francis Mercier. As the Founder of Afro/Progressive House imprint Deep Root Tribe and Deep Root Underground, Emvafaya explores the overlap of Afro House and Deep Melodic House. With regular performances at Afro-Deep themed events and showcases across the world, ranging from New York to Zurich, to Lisbon, and to Belgrade, Emvafaya creates a unique and powerful musical experience for those in the room.
Emvafaya has released records with Deep Root Tribe, Subliminal, Swoon (Get Physical), Abracadabra, and other labels at the forefront of pushing Deep, Afro, and Melodic Progressive music. His music has been remixed by Ryan Murgatroyd, sung over by Idd Aziz, selected by Blond:ish in her Human Nature compilation, and featured in Deep Root’s ‘New York State of House: Sunset Edition’ album which positioned itself as the #1 Afro House album on Beatport.
